Fast Days FRIDGE | FREEZER | PANTRY
Generally, Fast Days Healing Days’ fridge, freezer and pantry are filled with fresh, whole foods and ingredients. Veggies of all kinds, especially brightly colored or leafy greens take up the most space in the fridge! Meats and seafood from the best sources possible, pocket book and food budget depending, fill the freezer. We also strategically cook extra servings, portioning into meals-for-one, then freezing in airtight containers, for those rainy days when we don’t feel like cooking or simply don’t have the time.
FDHD also uses quite a few condiments, spice blends and spices, fresh and dried herbs, prepared convenience foods and near zero or zero calorie sauces, chutneys and pastes that make life easy.
Many are available on your grocery shelves, but others are purchased online. We link to items in our recipes and the links go to our Amazon vendors and affiliate vendors. We make a little spiff from them every time you use one of our links to purchase that ingredient or product. Remember!!! We have an EXTENSIVE pantry and condiment shelf in the fridge. It didn’t happen overnight! We built our pantries up one item at a time, one recipe at a time. That way the cost is spread out over months! We also don’t have all of these ingredients at the same time! Also, buying spices from the bulk isle is so much cheaper. You can buy only the amount you need or buy it in quantity and stock it, your choice. Dollar stores and Big Lots are also great sources for cheap spices. Trust me when we tell you cooking your own food, and fully utilizing leftovers will save you thousands on your grocery budget. Eating 20-25% of your normal calories every other day also saves you tons on the grocery bill each year.
